QuiltCon 2019
Brain Storm

The guidelines for this quilt demanded small piecing and the members came through with dozens of
small quilt blocks, some quite elaborate. The head in this quilt is exploding with ideas for quilts. The
open mind concept comes from images found online, a painting by Cassie’s mother, and, of course,
Monty Python. Members made more than 80 blocks. Except for the hexie blocks and the Dresden
plate all the blocks are pieced into the top, earning the quilt a nickname that cannot be shared in
polite company. We included blocks representing three of our past QuiltCon Charity Challenge quilts
— the San Xavier del Bac Mission, an Arizona star block and a Dresden plate representing life in
pieces.
